Purpose of Research

We study biological systems that regulate organogenesis through genetic and molecular biological approaches with a particular focus on transcriptional regulations. The research leads to the identification of bioactive molecules and the understanding of biological actions at the interface between living bodies and bioactive molecules, ultimately aiming to develop bioactive molecule-based regenerative therapies. We take advantage of genome-, transcriptome-, and proteome-wide analyses, and integration of the comprehensive data sets by bioinformatics.

Subjects of Reseach

  • Transcriptional networks and regulatory systems in skeletal development
  • Transcriptional networks regulating stem cell behaviors
  • Identification of bioactive molecules that induce tissue formation
  • Development of tissue regenerative therapies using bioactive molecule-loaded biomaterials
